Ensuring continuity of learning during inclement weather events

At The Directors College, the safety and well-being of our participants, faculty, and staff is of utmost importance. In the event of inclement weather, we are committed to maintaining program continuity while prioritizing safety.

In the event of inclement weather, The Directors College will follow the following guidelines for a scheduled session. Participants will be notified via email by program staff of any module cancellations. The Directors College is not responsible for any travel or incidental costs incurred by the participant.

Participants are encouraged to check McMaster University’s communication channels before travelling to campus for a session:

Weather-related programming changes

Virtual modules

All virtual modules will continue as planned and proceed on schedule, regardless of local weather conditions that may be affecting individual participants.

In-person modules

Scheduled in-person sessions will move to a virtual session. Participants will be notified via email of any changes, delays, or cancellations due to severe weather.

Updates and instructions will be communicated promptly through the primary contact information provided at registration.

We encourage all participants to check their email regularly for updates and to reach out to the program coordinator with any questions or concerns.

In-Person session meals & accommodations

The Directors College will plan with the hotel to provide meals following the schedule for the session day. Meal costs incurred by participants outside of the hotel will not be covered by The Directors College.

The Directors College is obligated to provide housing accommodations for the scheduled sessions (2 nights). Participants may decide to remain for additional nights at their own cost.
