The Directors College Awards Scholarships to Support Board Diversity and Emerging Leaders

The Directors College is pleased to announce the recipients of two scholarships that support efforts to enhance corporate governance in Canada and encourage fresh perspectives in the boardroom.

The Board Diversity Scholarship
This scholarship, funded by McMaster University and The Conference Board of Canada, was open to candidates who identify themselves as coming from groups which are underrepresented on corporate Boards. These groups include but are not limited to: women; visible minorities; and Indigenous peoples.

Awarded to Anne-Josée Laquerre

The NATIONAL Public Relations Emerging Leader Scholarship
This scholarship, funded by NATIONAL Public Relations, was open to individuals who demonstrated initiative, vision and resilience in achieving a remarkable record of success in their chosen field. They communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, are familiar with governance roles and concepts, and have experience in innovation, collaboration, community, cultural or political processes.

Awarded to Danielle Rocheleau

“We are very pleased to award our scholarships to two individuals committed to learning to become more insightful and impactful business leaders and board members,” says Dave Mammoliti, Managing Director of The Directors College. “We believe they, and their organizations, will benefit from the competencies and confidence gained through our ‘gold standard’ governance education program”. 

The scholarships will be applied to the Chartered Director (C.Dir.) program in 2019.
