Canada’s Chartered Directors
The Directors College is pleased to present Canada’s Chartered Directors. The graduates listed below have completed The Chartered Director Program, an intensive individual examination, and have met the other requirements to become a Chartered Director (C.Dir.)
The Directors College and the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés (CAS) of Université Laval have a reciprocal agreement, whereby their respective designations – Chartered Director (C.Dir.) and Administrateur de sociétés certifié (ASC) are recognized as equivalent.

Ms. Selma M. Lussenburg, C.Dir.
Director, Independent

Selma is an accomplished legal executive with diverse business and legal experience.
Selma was recently appointed pursuant to the Agreement on Internal Trade as a member of the federal and provincial Dispute Settlement Roster.
She currently active as a corporate mentor and serves as a member of Executive Committee of the Canada US Law Institute.
Selma has served as SVP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at OMERS (a large public pension plan with $50b assets). There she had responsibility for the provision and management all legal services (including 300+ subsidiary operations), the Board and Corporate Secretariats and compliance matters, serving on a number of OMERS subsidiary boards, including Oxford Properties. Prior thereto, Selma was VP, Legal Affairs, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for AT&T's Canadian operations serving as a director on numerous subsidiary boards.
Selma has practiced corporate, commercial, securities and trade law with the Toronto law firms of Borden Ladner Gervais, Fasken Martineau and the Sydney office of the Australian law firm of Allen, Arthur, Robinson.
Selma is multilingual (French, Spanish and Dutch) and a Canadian representative to the Trade Ministers' NAFTA Advisory Committee on the Resolution of Private International Commercial Disputes.
Ms. Lussenburg was called to the Ontario Bar in 1982 and qualified as an English solicitor in 1987. She received her C.Dir in 2008.
Academic qualifications include a Certificate of Private and Public International Law from the Hague Academy of International Law in The Netherlands, an LLM-Master of International Law from the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia, a graduate Diploma in International Co-operation and Development from the Institute for International Development and Co-operation, as well as a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Social Science.
Selma is a frequent speaker and writer on international, business and trade law and a member of numerous professional organizations.
She serves as a mentor in the Canadian Corporate Counsel Mentor Program.
