Canada’s Chartered Directors
The Directors College is pleased to present Canada’s Chartered Directors. The graduates listed below have completed The Chartered Director Program, an intensive individual examination, and have met the other requirements to become a Chartered Director (C.Dir.)
The Directors College and the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés (CAS) of Université Laval have a reciprocal agreement, whereby their respective designations – Chartered Director (C.Dir.) and Administrateur de sociétés certifié (ASC) are recognized as equivalent.

Mr. Michael MacBean, C.Dir.
Managing Director, TriWest Capital Partners

Mick is the winner of the 2007 Gil Bennet Award.
Mick MacBean is a Managing Director of TriWest Capital Partners, a private equity group based in Calgary Alberta. Mick is a Director of Diamond Energy Services Inc., a private oilfield services company based in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. He is also Director and Audit Committee Chairman of Peyto Energy Trust, a TSE listed energy trust with a market capitalization of approximately $2.0 billion. Peyto produces approximately 20,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day and has its head office in Calgary Alberta. Mick is a Director of Sask Power, the utility has $4.5 billion in assets and over 2,500 employees. Mick serves as Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee. Mick is also the chair of the Energy Committee for Enterprise Saskatchewan, an advisory board to the Government of Saskatchewan on provincial energy issues. In addition, he is a past Director of FX Energy, a private oil and gas exploration and production company headquartered in Calgary and sold in 2008. From 1995 to 1998, Mick worked as a Senior Investment Analyst for ARC Financial Corporation, an energy focused boutique investment bank based in Calgary Alberta. He earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1990 from the University of Saskatchewan and also his Chartered Accountant designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta in 1992. In 2001, Mick was admitted to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Saskatchewan. Mick is married with three children.
