Canada’s Chartered Directors
The Directors College is pleased to present Canada’s Chartered Directors. The graduates listed below have completed The Chartered Director Program, an intensive individual examination, and have met the other requirements to become a Chartered Director (C.Dir.)
The Directors College and the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés (CAS) of Université Laval have a reciprocal agreement, whereby their respective designations – Chartered Director (C.Dir.) and Administrateur de sociétés certifié (ASC) are recognized as equivalent.

Mr. Marco Marrone, C.Dir.
Chief Operating Officer, Canadian Tire Retail

Marco Marrone is the Chief Operating Officer of Canadian Tire Retail and Executive Vice President of Canadian Tire Corporation. Mr Marrone has more than 25 years of experience at Canadian Tire, covering many areas. During these years, he has gained deep insight into all areas of the Company and has been instrumental in its strategic direction and growth.
In his current role, Mr. Marrone is responsible for all of Canadian Tire Retail operations such as merchandising, marketing, supply chain, information technology and store operations including Dealer relations.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Marrone was the Company’s Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President, Finance, responsible for all financial aspects of the Company as well as leading the implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards. In addition, Mr. Marrone has served as President of Canadian Tire Financial Services and Canadian Tire Bank where he was responsible for all aspects of the business with over $4 billion in receivables. Mr. Marrone has served in numerous functional capacities over his career, including finance, marketing, information technology, credit risk management and operations.
In addition to his MBA and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from McMaster University, Mr. Marrone also holds a Chartered Director designation and has been selected as a Fellow of the Society of Management Accountants, FCMA.
