Canada’s Chartered Directors
The Directors College is pleased to present Canada’s Chartered Directors. The graduates listed below have completed The Chartered Director Program, an intensive individual examination, and have met the other requirements to become a Chartered Director (C.Dir.)
The Directors College and the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés (CAS) of Université Laval have a reciprocal agreement, whereby their respective designations – Chartered Director (C.Dir.) and Administrateur de sociétés certifié (ASC) are recognized as equivalent.

Mr. Robert Jack, C.Dir.
Principal, RMJ

Robert W. C. Jack is currently the principal of a Halifax based pension and employee benefits consultancy, RMJ, which provides assistance to trustee boards and plan sponsors in the areas of plan governance, professional trusteeship, corporate secretariat, policy research, plan design, management of third party contracts and benefits technology. Robert was a trustee of the Nova Scotia Public Service Long Term Disability Trust since 1999 and was appointed as Chair of the Board in 2003. The Trust provides disability insurance coverage to approximately 12,500 public sector workers. He also sits on the Pension Governance Board of Mount Saint Vincent University and the Pension Advisory Committee of Dalhousie University. Previously, he has been on the boards of the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Certified General Accountants' Association and various community groups. Born in Paisley, Scotland, Robert is a graduate of the University of Glasgow (Social Economics) and of Dalhousie University in Halifax (Master of Public Administration.) He is a Certified General Accountant and a Chartered Director. He holds the Advanced Trustee Management Series (ATMS) certificate in group benefits awarded by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. He also holds certificates in Modern Portfolio Theory and Advanced Investment Management from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Robert began his career in Bermuda in public accounting and then joined the Nova Scotia civil service in the auditing field. He next moved to the pension and benefits area where for almost twenty five years he was responsible for administering the Teachers' Pension Plan, the Public Service Superannuation Plan, the MLA's Pension Plan, the Provincial Judges' Pension Plan, the Sydney Steel Superannuation Fund and related insurance programmes. He has also been an officer in the militia, a volunteer arbitrator with the Better Business Bureau and has taught educational finance in the M. Ed programme at Dalhousie University. Robert is an amateur historian, a jazz and opera enthusiast, a would be oenophile and has pretensions to culinary expertise!
