Canada’s Chartered Directors

The Directors College is pleased to present Canada’s Chartered Directors. The graduates listed below have completed The Chartered Director Program, an intensive individual examination, and have met the other requirements to become a Chartered Director (C.Dir.)

The Directors College and the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés (CAS) of Université Laval have a reciprocal agreement, whereby their respective designations – Chartered Director (C.Dir.) and Administrateur de sociétés certifié (ASC) are recognized as equivalent.

Mr. David Hipgrave, C.Dir.
Retired President and Chief Executive Officer, Certified Management Accountants of Ontario


Mr. Hipgrave, FCMA, P.Eng., C.Dir., is the recently retired President and Chief Executive Officer of Certified Management Accountants of Ontario (CMA Ontario). In this role, Mr. Hipgrave was directly responsible to the Board for the planning, organization and operation of CMA Ontario affairs. Prior to this appointment with CMA Ontario, Mr. Hipgrave was the Chief Administrative Officer for the municipality of Milton. Mr. Hipgrave spent fourteen years with the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto where he held the positions of Director of Corporate Planning and Executive Director, Chairman's Office. Prior to that, he spent two years as Management Policy Advisor in the Province of Ontario's Management Board Secretariat and five years as a management consultant with Ernst & Young, formerly Woods Gordon.
