The Directors College is pleased to present Canada’s Chartered Directors. The graduates listed below have completed The Chartered Director Program, an intensive individual examination, and have met the other requirements to become a Chartered Director (C.Dir.)
The Directors College and the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés (CAS) of Université Laval have a reciprocal agreement, whereby their respective designations – Chartered Director (C.Dir.) and Administrateur de sociétés certifié (ASC) are recognized as equivalent.

Mr. Tony Valeri, C.Dir.
President, Ridge Strategy Group Inc.

The Honourable Tony Valeri, P.C., C. Dir. is President of Ridge Strategy Group Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canadian Financial Group Inc. He provides strategic advice in matters relating to public affairs, including transportation, finance, trade and parliamentary process. Tony is also consulted by clients on matters relating to business development strategies and opportunities both domestic and internationally. Mr. Valeri has accepted an Executive in Residence position at McMaster University's DeGroote School of Business and is a Director of St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario and the Global Governing Board of the Caux Round Table, a network of senior business leaders who share common values and conviction that business should assume a leadership role in bringing positive changes in society. Mr. Valeri was elected to the Parliament of Canada in 1993 and re-elected three times. The Right Honourable Prime Minister called on him to serve as the Minister of Transport and subsequently to direct the Government's legislative program and was appointed Leader of the Government in the House of Commons. As Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance, he was directly involved in the budget making process and was responsible for the passage of finance legislation in the House of Commons during his tenure. As part of his Cabinet Committee responsibilities, he served as Vice-Chair of the Operations Committee, Chair of the Cabinet Committee on WTO negotiations, and was Ex-officio on all other cabinet committees. He also served as Regional Minister responsible for the geographic area of Hamilton, Haldimand-Norfolk, Brant and Niagara. Highlights of Mr. Valeri's Parliamentary Committee work include both Chair and/or membership of Trade, Finance, Government Operations and Estimates Committees and the Parliamentary Steel Caucus. He was a member of the Canada-USA Inter-Parliamentary Association, and acted as Co-Chair of The Crossing Boundaries National Council.Prior to assuming public office Mr. Valeri enjoyed a diverse career in the financial services sector and instructed at Mohawk College in Hamilton Ontario. He was granted the designation C.Dir. (Chartered Director) by McMaster University in January 2007. He earned a degree in Economics from McMaster University in 1981.At home in Stoney Creek, Tony enjoys family life with his wife of 14 years Terri, and his two son's Anthony and Luca.
