Canada’s Chartered Directors
The Directors College is pleased to present Canada’s Chartered Directors. The graduates listed below have completed The Chartered Director Program, an intensive individual examination, and have met the other requirements to become a Chartered Director (C.Dir.)
The Directors College and the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés (CAS) of Université Laval have a reciprocal agreement, whereby their respective designations – Chartered Director (C.Dir.) and Administrateur de sociétés certifié (ASC) are recognized as equivalent.

Mr. Patrick McGrade, C.Dir.
Vice President, Corporate and Legal Affairs & Corporate Secretary, GlaxoSmithKline Inc.
Patrick M. McGrade joined Glaxo Wellcome Inc. in January 1999, after practicing Corporate Health law in Toronto. Prior to that, he had completed his articles and practiced law in the Corporate Finance area for a number of years with a large Toronto full-service law firm. Patrick earned his law degree at Osgoode Hall Law School after studying Public Policy and Administration at York University. He took on the role of Acting General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary of Glaxo Wellcome Inc. in January 2000 and following the merger with SmithKline Beecham he was appointed General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of GSK in Canada. In 2001, Patrick took on additional responsibilities in the Federal Policy and Government Relations area with a focus on Intellectual Property protection and relationships with Health Canada, Industry Canada and other Federal Government departments. In 2003, Patrick was promoted to his current role as a member of the Canadian Executive Team where he leads GSK's Legal Affairs Division and champions the company's commitment to performance with integrity and strong corporate governance.
