Canada’s Chartered Directors

The Directors College is pleased to present Canada’s Chartered Directors. The graduates listed below have completed The Chartered Director Program, an intensive individual examination, and have met the other requirements to become a Chartered Director (C.Dir.)

The Directors College and the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés (CAS) of Université Laval have a reciprocal agreement, whereby their respective designations – Chartered Director (C.Dir.) and Administrateur de sociétés certifié (ASC) are recognized as equivalent.

Mr. Howard Johnson, C.Dir.
Managing Director, Veracap Corporate Finance Limited


Howard is a Managing Director of Veracap Corporate Finance Limited and Campbell Valuation Partners Limited. He has been involved in acquisitions, divestitures, business valuation, private equity financing and shareholder value advisory assignments for public and private companies throughout North America and beyond. Howard has served on the board of public and private companies and held senior management positions in industry.

Howard is the author of several leading texts and publications on the subjects of business valuation, acquisitions and divestitures, including Corporate Finance for Canadian Executives (Thomson-Carswell, 2007), Selling Your Private Company: The Value Enhancement Framework™ for Business Owners (CICA, 2005), The Valuation of Business Interests (CICA, 2001) and Canada Valuation Service (Thomson-Carswell, periodical). He is a frequent speaker at conferences held throughout North America and has acted as an expert witness on complex valuation matters before the Courts.

Howard earned a B.Comm from Concordia University, a Graduate Diploma in Public Accountancy from McGill University and an MBA from McMaster University. He is a Fellow of the Society of Management Accountants of Canada (CMA) and holds the designations of Chartered Director, Chartered Accountant, Chartered Business Valuator, Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst, Accredited Senior Appraiser and Corporate Finance specialist. Howard is the past Chair of the Society of Management Accountants of Ontario and serves on the Boards of SIRIT Inc. (a TSX-listed technology company) and Oakville Hydro. Howard is an avid hockey player. He lives in Oakville, Ontario with his wife, Julie, and their 4 children.
