Canada’s Chartered Directors

The Directors College is pleased to present Canada’s Chartered Directors. The graduates listed below have completed The Chartered Director Program, an intensive individual examination, and have met the other requirements to become a Chartered Director (C.Dir.)

The Directors College and the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés (CAS) of Université Laval have a reciprocal agreement, whereby their respective designations – Chartered Director (C.Dir.) and Administrateur de sociétés certifié (ASC) are recognized as equivalent.

Ms. Marianne Love, C.Dir.

Marianne Love was appointed to the OMERS Board in April 1999 as a municipal employer representative and is currently serving a second three year term. In that capacity she has served on all mandated Committees and Sub-Committees. She is currently Chair of the Human Resources and Compensation Committee and the Appeals Sub-Committee; past Chair of the Pension and Management Committees and past Vice Chair of the Investment Committee. She is employed as a Policy Advisor for the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO), being the largest employer stakeholder in the Pension Plan, and provides labour and pension advice to the Association and its members. Marianne has over twenty years of experience in the human resources field as consultant, human resource practitioner and legal counsel. Much of her experience is in the municipal sector, beginning in the City of Toronto's Legal Department in 1982. She was called to the Bar in 1984. In 1988 she was appointed Corporation Counsel for City of Brampton and concurrently held the position of Director of Enforcement and later, Director of Human Resources. Marianne went on to hold the position of Commissioner of Corporate Services. She has also served as a trustee for William Osler Health Centre and the Peel Memorial Hospital, and chaired various standing committees while in that capacity. In addition to her role with OMERS and AMO, Marianne is a principal with McDowall Associates specializing in job evaluation, pay equity, compensation and performance management systems and legislative compliance. Marianne has a Law Degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Windsor. She holds a Certificate in Public Pension Plan Policy from DePaul University in Chicago, a Certificate in Trustee Management from the University of California, Berkeley and a Chartered Director designation from the Degroote School of Business.
