Canada’s Chartered Directors
The Directors College is pleased to present Canada’s Chartered Directors. The graduates listed below have completed The Chartered Director Program, an intensive individual examination, and have met the other requirements to become a Chartered Director (C.Dir.)
The Directors College and the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés (CAS) of Université Laval have a reciprocal agreement, whereby their respective designations – Chartered Director (C.Dir.) and Administrateur de sociétés certifié (ASC) are recognized as equivalent.

John T. Hsu, B.A.Sc., MBA, FCMA
Managing Director, Risk Management and Operations, University of Toronto Asset Management Corp. (UTAM)
John’s responsibilities at UTAM encompass the oversight of the firm’s investment operations, finance & administration, risk management and compliance functions.
John has extensive experience in investments and capital markets. Prior to joining UTAM, he was head of Investment Risk Analytics at Manulife Financial and, before that, was a senior member of the derivatives and capital markets groups at CIBC World Markets, Citibank and RBC Dominion Securities.
He currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of Certified Management Accountants of Ontario, one of the three provincially-legislated and regulated accounting bodies in Ontario. He is also a member of the Board of Directors and the Investment Committee of the Greater Toronto Scout Foundation, and is the former Treasurer & Finance Committee Chair of Scouts Canada, Greater Toronto Council.
John earned an MBA from UWO’s Richard Ivey School of Business, and a Bachelor in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto. He is also a Fellow of the Certified Management Accountants of Canada.
