Canada’s Chartered Directors
The Directors College is pleased to present Canada’s Chartered Directors. The graduates listed below have completed The Chartered Director Program, an intensive individual examination, and have met the other requirements to become a Chartered Director (C.Dir.)
The Directors College and the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés (CAS) of Université Laval have a reciprocal agreement, whereby their respective designations – Chartered Director (C.Dir.) and Administrateur de sociétés certifié (ASC) are recognized as equivalent.

Ms. Leanne Likness, C.Dir.
Governance Officer and Corporate Secretary, STARS

Leanne Likness joined STARS Air Ambulance in 2012 as Governance Officer and Corporate Secretary. At STARS, Ms. Likness is responsible for overseeing all aspects of governance and compliance, including working with the Boards of Directors in ensuring they are meeting their oversight responsibilities. Ms. Likness is also responsible for organizational compliance to legislation and internal policy, contract management, and privacy, acting as the Privacy Officer for the organization.
Prior to joining STARS, Ms. Likness acted as Corporate Secretary for ENMAX Corporation from 2008 to 2011. Prior to joining ENMAX, Ms. Likness was Assistant Corporate Secretary and then Corporate Secretary for Superior Plus Income Fund from 2006 to 2008. Ms. Likness has also acted in governance management capacities at both Shell Canada and Sun Life Financial in Toronto. Ms. Likness has over 15 years in the corporate governance profession, overseeing various governance programs and related public disclosure and securities compliance.
Ms. Likness also actively consults organizations on all aspects of organizational governance through her company, Likness Governance (www.liknessgovernance.com).
Ms. Likness is an active member of the Canadian Society of Corporate Secretary's, formally serving as Chair of the Alberta Chapter of that organization. She is also a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, as well as the Institute of Chartered Secretary's and Administrators. Ms. Likness is a frequent lecturer and author on governance matters.
Ms. Likness lives in Calgary with her husband Glen and their son, Brennan.
