Canada’s Chartered Directors
The Directors College is pleased to present Canada’s Chartered Directors. The graduates listed below have completed The Chartered Director Program, an intensive individual examination, and have met the other requirements to become a Chartered Director (C.Dir.)
The Directors College and the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés (CAS) of Université Laval have a reciprocal agreement, whereby their respective designations – Chartered Director (C.Dir.) and Administrateur de sociétés certifié (ASC) are recognized as equivalent.

Jim is the President, CEO and founder of Dalriada Capital Corp., a private firm engaged in a variety of investment activities, including private equity, venture capital, asset backed lending and leasing. Prior to founding Dalriada
Jim was a Senior Managing Director of Jennings Capital Inc., a Calgary based national investment dealer that provides capital markets services to corporations, institutional investors and high net-worth individuals. Jim was a member of Jennings' Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Prior to joining Jennings, Jim was the President and COO of a Calgary based regional investment dealer. Jim brings 29 years of experience in the Canadian investment industry, specializing in Public Venture Capital.
Jim holds the following positions;
• Member of the Disciplinary Hearing Panel of the Investment Industry Association of Canada,
• Chairman of the Corporate Governance committee and member of the Audit Committee of Platinum Communications Corporation, an Internet Service Provider specializing in Rural High Speed internet. Platinum is a public company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange.
. Dirctor - Glenbriar Technologies Inc. (CNQ: GBRT) is a leader in Enterprise IT Innovation for small and medium businesses. Glenbriar integrates information technology, voice and software strategies in a number of market verticals spearheaded by an internally developed Managed Infrastructure Services (MIS) approach.
. Dirctor - Unitech uses its proprietary image analysis and pattern recognition system, called Leadscan, for a ‘first look advantage' that drives Unitech's exploration strategy. Shares of Unitech are listed for trading on the TSX Venture Exchange.
2009 - obtained the Chartered Director (C.Dir.) designation from The Directors College (a joint venture of McMaster University and The Conference Board of Canada),
Graduate of McMaster University in 1978, receiving an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Geography, and 1979 received a Diploma of Business Administration from Wilfred Laurier University. Jim has made Calgary his home for 28 years. Other positions held over his, 1984 – President of the Calgary Junior Chamber of Commerce; Senator of Junior Chamber International; Senior Associate and Committee Chairman of Calgary Exhibition & Stampede (1989 to 1991); Member of the Joint Technology Committee of the Alberta & Vancouver Stock Exchanges (1996); Member of the Listings Committee of the Alberta Stock Exchange (1997 & 1998); Member of the Alberta District Council of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada (2002 to 2006)
