A key role of a board or committee chairperson is to conduct highly effective meetings. How a board behaves and generates effective dialogue, and the outcomes resulting from that behaviour, are measures of board effectiveness.
The Directors College Chairs Forum is a valuable opportunity for current and upcoming board and committee chairs to:
- Gain insights and knowledge from a panel of skilled and experienced chairs into the “art” of being an effective chairperson.
- Participate in “thought leadership” discussions with peers.
- Obtain answers to specific board leadership questions, and take away immediate and practical tools suitable for your own board and committee service.
- Participate in a Chairperson Simulation, providing an opportunity to observe and experience behaviours that lead to effective dialogue and highly effective meetings, and dispel behaviours that lead to disruptive and ineffective outcomes.
This one-day event consists of a morning panel discussion and a half-day Chairperson Simulation.
The Directors College has a renowned expertise in delivering experiential learning, through simulation. Graduates of The Chartered Director Program tell us that they consider The Board Simulation in Module 5 to be the highlight of their learning experience.
Whether you are new to the simulation experience, or not, you will benefit greatly from this exceptional and unparalleled learning opportunity to create more effective board member performance.
Registration fee for this one-day program: $1,295 (HST exempt). The fee includes the entire day’s program, meals (except dinner), and all program materials.
Chartered Directors can obtain 8 CPD hours through participation in The Chairs Forum.
